MAKING YOUR EXECUTIVE LOOK MORE THAN AVERAGE

MAKING YOUR EXECUTIVE LOOK MORE THAN AVERAGE

Executive. A word that I don't particularly like. It makes me immediately think to the word "boring". I guess we all have this image of women and men going to work looking all the same. Since I don't like to look like everyone else, this must be the reason why the word executive doesn't have a strong appeal on me.

But - yes there is a but - you know I love to play with codes, so I decided to style an executive inspired outfit and to twist enough to make it desirable. It was also a good excuse to wear a all-black outfit. And I could not resist to it.

So here is my version of an "not-so" executive outfit. It is sharp and edgy just enough to make you want to wear it more often.

Everything is in the lines: When creating a elegant monochrome look, you need to take into consideration one thing: the lines. Nothing should disturb the silhouette. It is a minimalistic outfit, so no need to add layers and stuff that would disturb the eye. I recommend that you choose clothes that are adapted to your body type and that fit you well. If you are more into skirt, go for a pencil one for example. Just make sure the lines are respected.

Statement accessories: For a lot of people, the term minimalistic is equivalent as boring. This could not be more wrong. Actually a minimalistic silhouette gives you two options for the accessories: either go bold with extravagant jewels or play it edgy with sharp ones. For the look, I choose the second option. The first one would have perfectly worked too by the way. The only thing you should pay attention to is that your accessories selection is curated and makes a statement. This is the key to never be boring!

Have a strong makeup: You are wearing a monochromatic outfit, that is elegant and strong. if not fierce. You're makeup should match it. Therefore, I recommend to go for a dark lipstick. I chose a purple one, but it could have been brown or dark red. The idea is once again to make a statement.  Remember that a makeup focused on the lips requires a flawless stain. I recommend you take a particular attention to it. Otherwise, the dark shade could make your skin a bit grey.
