OLD STUFFS, NEW OUTFITS

As a blogger I am frequently asked, how I manage to always create new outfit. Do I constantly buy new clothes ? The answer is no. Even though I love to have new stuffs - fashion victim! - if I was adding new elements to my closet everyday, I will end up:

1/ Broke

2/ With a chaotic mess

Also, when it comes to fashion and style, I am a bit sentimental. I like to have clothes, bags, accessories that are related to memories, that follow my everyday life. In the end, I believe your style should always adapt to you and not the way round.

This is for this exact reason that I decided to right about how to create new looks with "old" items. Because that's what I do in my daily life. Reinventing my self and my style without buying additional piece of clothing or accessories.

Many people tend to create their outfit once and repeat them. It's called a uniform. And it's normal. It's human and rational to do that. It simplifies you decision making process and also put you in your comfort zone. So you know, I do the same, especially when I am busy, tired or in a rush. But on the other hand, I always try to experiment with my style. Therefore, I try to renew it as much as I can by mixing different pieces of my closet in a way I didn't do before.

For example, the sneakers I wore on the pictures were feature on 4AM JOURNAL this summer, the sweater in a winter post and the bag this spring.

Seduced? Here are my advices to create new outfits with old stuffs.

#DETAILSMATTER

It is easy to create a new outfit with not-so-new clothes and accessories. You are probably already doing it without noticing it. I believe it is just a matter of practice.

1. Think outside the box: Try not to go for the uniform, break your code - even just a bit.

2. Take your time: It is easier to create a new outfit when you are not in a rush.

3. The twist can be in details: It can be a change in the makeup or the jewelry for example.

4. Don't be scared to try: Put on the outfit, go see yourself in the mirror and if you don't like it don't wear it. It is that simple.

5. Make change that makes you feel confident: You can go out of your comfort zone, of course. I even recommend it. The only thing is to still feel like yourself. Your style should be yours and not impersonate the one of someone else.

6. Play with your accessories: It is the easiest way to change an outfit. To give a different tone to it.

7. Mix different textures: It always give more depth to an outfit.

8. No pressure: You are experimenting. Your outfit doesn't need to be flawless. And FYI, perfection is boring!

9. Get inspiration: This what bloggers and magazines are for. Just saying.

10.Have fun: It is the basis of everything!
