KNOW YOUR BASICS: THE FEW PIECES TO HAVE IN YOUR CLOSET
What is a good wardrobe?
Is it having expensive clothes? No. Is it having plenty of it? No - but let be honest it helps! I believe a good wardrobe is based on few pieces that you mix and match with less essential ones.
For your info, the extremely trendy clothes don't tend to be the ones that will stay forever in your closet. Obviously there are some exceptions. However, it doesn't mean that you should not buy some trendy clothes. It is just a matter of balance - and budget of course...
I know what your currently wondering: what are those essential pieces that are the foundation of a good wardrobe? Well, here is a list of the few pieces that I believe are key to have a wonderful wardrobe:
1. A whool coat: its a classic and absolutely timeless piece that matches with everything. I like mine in black or grey to match as much as possible other pieces.
2. A kimono: This one is a very personal essential. I am fond of kimonos and I have plenty in different fabrics and prints. It is kind of replacing the traditional jacket in my closet.
3. A cashmere scarf: The perfect travel companion. It gives you comfort and keeps you warm wherever you are. I got mine over 10 years ago. And it is always an elegant accessory.
4. An oversized jumper: Why oversized? Simply because it gives you more options when styling an outfit and it also makes you feel extremely comfortable when you are a bit down or travelling.
5. Few linen t-shirts: Linen as the particularity to be fluid, so you can play with it, twist it without looking cheap. I got few from Iro Paris and they are my go-to piece when I don't know what to wear in the morning.
6. Man shirt: Always stylish and so timeless. There is nothing like wearing a man shirt. It is kind of empowering in a way, while remaining feminine at all time.
7. A silk tank top: Alone or under a something else, it gives a sexy twist to your outfit.
8. A little black dress: I am no exception to the rules. A little black dress will always have your back!
9. Denim shorts: The effortless option for summer or even winter with thighs for the most daring ones. Plus, if you're not the skirt-kind of person, it is the best solution to show little leg!
10. Leather pants: I am definitely into leather and black... So obviously I love a good pair of leather pants. And it always give a bit of edge to a very simple outfit!
11. High-waist jeans: I love high-waist jeans. They enhance everyones silhouette so well. And no need to wear a belt!
12. Boots: I like mine black and with a heels. They match with everything and I can still run all-over the place with them.
13. Stilettos: Like the little black dress, the stilettos are your friends for life. They immediately give elegance to a casual outfit.
14. Leather belt: I really got a thing for leather. I love a good leather belt to give a little twist to classy outfit.
15. A go-to-bag: Obviously you know that I am a bag addict, but I do have a go-to bag. This bag follows me everywhere and I always wear it when I am in a rush. Will you guess which one it is on my IG feed?

Shape is essential: A good basic has a good shape. Always! Don't by stuff that are not correctly built, even if the brand is cool and worn by tons of influencers. A piece of clothing that will stay for a long time in your closet is really the one that has a good tailoring. So pay attention to it. Price is not always a indicator of quality, FYI!
Textures: The second element that is really important when choosing essentials are the textures. The fabric should always appeal you. You must want to wear it. On that point we are all different. So trust your taste and go for the one that makes you feel comfortable, that does require efforts to be worn.
Know your colors: We all have a range of color that we like and that looks good on us. I would recommend to choose your essentials to be "neutral". Therefore they can be mix and matched easily with more crazy elements.
