S.K.I.R.T. Yes! Skirt. This simple word can provoke various reactions ranging from excitement to anxiety. Me? Well... I am more on the anxiety side. Not that I have don't have fun wearing a skirt. I am just not that comfortable in super girly skirts. It doesn't come easy to me to style a skirt. I always want to twist the classy and girly vibes.
How? First, you need to know yourself and your style. Do you wear leather? Are you boyish? Do you wear a lot of pants? What are your habits? Ask yourself questions. Your answers define your style and the way you shall wear a skirt.
As an example, I always add a rock'n'roll twist to my outfits. I often wear leather, motorbike or combat boots and black clothes. I wear a lot of pants, but I always pay attention to be feminine. Concerning my habits, I usually run everywhere and multitask, so my outfits have to adapt.

#DETAILSMATTER:
If this style inspires you and you want to reproduce it or part of it, here are some tricks and tips.
Choose according to your morphology: Have you ever bought a skirt, no THE skirt, that everyone wanted and once at home you realized how awful you looked? If yes, just so you know, it happens to everyone and it's not the end of the world. If no, it might not happen to you with skirts but with pants or coats. If still no... well you are lucky as hell or just Naomi Campbell! To go back to skirts, everything lies in your morphology. We are all different: tall, small, curvy, skinny, long-legged, small-legged.... The deal is to know your morphology and to buy the right clothes according to it. For example, I am tall, disproportionately long-legged with a small torso, and I have hips. So the best fit for me are mini and pencil skirts. As I love my legs, I want to show them off. This is why I chose a mini skirt when styling this outfit.
Be careful to the proportions and the textures: As the idea is to style a skirt, everything should be done to highlight it. Is it short or long? Tight or wide? Does it have a particular texture or fabric? For this style, I selected the difficult option: a textured and satined mini skirt. As it is short and tight, I decided wear a loose vintage leather jacket and low-key rock top. To give a casual sexy vibe to the look and have a slender silhouette, I add high-heeled leather low boots. If you are not comfortable with wearing heels with a skirt, especially a mini skirt, go for flat boots or sneakers. There are so many options, it's so good! Concerning the textures and fabrics, pay a close attention to select the right clothes to match them. Except if you want to look like a Christmas tree, do not put a glitter top and coat with a glitter skirt! What I recommend is to tone down the skirt when it is fancy and, the way round when you wear a low profile or minimalistic skirt. Also, select your fabric wisely: some might, like satin, fattened a bit your body. For those, who prefer a long and tight skirt, the trick is to wear short or loose tops, such as man shirts or jumpers. If it is wide, I go for a close-to-the-body and short top. By being careful with the proportions, you will show off your body shape.
Pay attention to the accessories: When styling this outfit, I selected a few rings and a bag. Not too complicated, but efficient. To add a bit of eccentricity, I chose a zebra printed bag. Concerning the rings, I mixed three different shapes of rings: a vintage gold double ring, a regular silver ring, and two phalanges ring. This idea is to create a bit of a mess. As I wanted to give a rock'n'roll shade to this silhouette, I needed a little chaos going on. A perfectly controlled outfit is not rock. Just keep in mind the kind of look you want. This is your guidelines when creating it.
What about the make up?: You know what's good about this outfit? You can choose whatever make-up style you want. I choose to do smokey eye made up with dark blue eye shadows. I wanted my eyes to be intensified. You can also go with a nude make-up. Just remember that with nude, your stain must be impeccable!
