PARIS FASHION WEEK SS18: IN MY FOOTPRINTS
A total rookie. This is exactly what I was two weeks ago when I learned I would be able to attend some shows and presentations during the Paris Fashion Week. I was so happy to get this opportunity, but at the same time I was intimidated. Yep, intimidated. But now that the Paris Fashion Week is over, I can that my apprehension was not justified. I had a blast!
I enjoyed every minutes of it. I have seen creativity in its different states: designers collections, people's outfits, shows and presentations scenography, and so much more. It was truly an inspiring experience. I still have sparkles in my eyes, actually! This being said you probably want to what shows and presentations I attended, don't you? Let me tell you about this week of Parisian madness.
MY WEEK OF MADNESS
It started with the Paskal show, located in an art gallery nearby the Place des Vosges. Paskal is a Ukrainian designer. Her highly poetic and recognizable designs usually feature transparency - do you remember the see-through skirt featured in this post ? - and multidimensional elements combined with delicate materials and unique shapes. Her Head in the Clouds show presented a poetic and colorful collection made of elaborated and aerial silhouettes.
On day two, I got to attend the Aalto show at the Palais de Tokyo. The After Nature show, enhancing a minimalistic and modern woman, was amazing. The silhouettes were highly desirable, especially those iridescent trousers. Don't you think? And after the show came the after party. A really great way to end the day!
Next, I got to discover the new collection of Alyx Studio. And the least I can say is that I want it all! An absolute must, that I can't wait to show you in future posts - to wait you can have a look at some previous Alyx Studio features on 4AM JOURNAL here.
On Saturday, I went to the extraordinary presentation of Beautiful People, Make Love collection. Conceived as a live performance, the crowd could watch the models get styled in a poetic atmosphere. A moment out of time!
The same day, after having lunch at the Hotel Costes - cliché I know - I went to the exquisite Gauchère presentation. The masculine -feminine silhouettes presented borrowed the tailoring codes. A truly brilliant collection.
On Sunday, I attended the iconic Scandinavian house, Marimekko, presentation at the Palais de Tokyo. Showcasing their art of print, the design house presented a highly desirable and colorful collection, featuring their famous prints and stripes.
Last but not least, on Monday, I went to discover the newest collection of Carine Gilson, which takes its roots in the art of kimono. The lace, the silk and the "piment" color are fantastic. Truly a haut lingerie collection!
