SPLIT DRESS IN DAYTIME: A DETAIL-CENTERED SILHOUETTE
I am pretty sure we all have in mind a picture of a woman wearing a glamorous dress with a split and another one looking no so glamorous in the same kind of dress. What makes the difference?
Is it beauty? No. Attitude? Not really. Style? Maybe. Confidence? Probably. Details? Definitely ! I'll keep on repeating it. The secret behind every beautiful silhouettes is details. You can have the most extensive and amazing wardrobe on earth if you don't pay attention to details your style will never be exceptional. By this I mean, the kind of look that makes people stare at you full of admiration and envy.
Details are what you need to have in mind when styling your outfit and more particularly statement pieces, such as a split dress. We are definitely used to see woman wearing that style of dresses in the evening. But what about the daytime? Is it more difficult to wear? The answer is yes and no. Yes because it's unexpected and whatever is uncommon requires more confidence. No because that kind of dresses tends to be minimalistic in order to let the split stand out.
The most important styling elements are therefore the makeup and hairstyle and the accessories. The other elements. It can be a nice belt, earrings, shoes, cateyes, a bun,... You have plenty options. Just try to balance everything.
Another important component of the look that should influence the accessories style is the type of fabric of the dress. You don't style the same way a satin and a wool dress. The first one will probably require more feminine and elegant accessories, when the other allows you to play with more "raw" and disruptive elements.
As long as you pay attention to the details, styling a split dress will be a dream! Can't wait to see your silhouettes!
