URBAN COWGIRL: HOW TO DISRUPT THE ICONIC AESTHETIC
Attitude. Style. Iconic. Lifestyle. This is how we could talk about the western aesthetic. I am sure you have a particular imagery in your mind when thinking about cowboys. To me? It is cool, chill and kind of nostalgic.
Lately, I was cleaning my closet - literally! And I realized that I owned some attributes of the cowboy outfit: stetsons, boots, leather jackets and obviously denim. At that moment, a light brightened in my tiny little brain! Why not adapting the cowboy aesthetic to make it wearable in a urban environment? Sounds good, no?
Obviously, to create a silhouette that will be awesomely cool to wear in your everyday life, you have to make it look like you. My point is: don't take the cowboy style at face value! You have to adapt it to you and to the urban lifestyle. I truly recommend you start from the cowboy-ish elements you want to keep in the silhouette. And then replace the rest by some components of your day-to-day style. For example, if you usually wear colors, add some colorful elements. Your outfit should always look like you and not an impersonation!
Here is my way to style a cowgirl-inspired outfit!

If this style inspires you and you want to reproduce it or part of it, here are some tricks and tips.
Twist your outfit: How should you wear cowboy-influenced silhouette? One answer: with a twist! But not every twist, the one that will make the outfit contemporary. Unless, you want to look like John Wayne! That's your choice my darling! Just be true to yourself. Don't impersonate someone else! So how do I twist, my outfit this time? With some rock elements: the black leather pants, silver accessories, the blue Louis Vuitton bag and the rock'n'roll t-shirt. I basically introduced elements of my day-to-day style to the overall silhouette.
Pay attention to the accessories: When styling this outfit, I selected a denim blue Twist Louis Vuitton bag, silver and pearled bracelets. This idea is to create a bit of a mess. As I wanted to give a rock'n'roll shade to this silhouette, I needed a little chaos going on. A perfectly controlled outfit is not rock or cowboy either. Just keep in mind the kind of look you want. This is your guideline when creating it.
What about the make up?: You know what's good about this outfit? You can choose whatever make up style you want. I chose to go for nude eyelid with just a touch of silver in the inner corner, made with a cream pencil. I wanted a fresh and bright makeup style to balance the dark outfit. When going with a nude make up, remember that your stain must be impeccable!
