FALL TEXTURES

We all know that fall can be depressing, at least in the northern hemisphere - lucky you Aussies! - with the light going gray, the weather getting colder and so on.

However lets see it positively! It's time to take your outfit to another level!

Take your clothes out of the closet and play with them. Fall and colder weather means more layers and textures. Even if I am not fond of people who thinks you can't wear some colors and piece of clothes in certains seasons, when it comes to textures that's kind of true. Who wears fur/faux-fur in summer? Do you get my point? I mean you can wear fur in summer, that's your choice in the end, but you may not feel the best by 40° C - yeah I'm French so I speak in Celsius.

So my point is that Fall is the perfect excuse to wear all the comfy, softy textures you want!

Moreover, textures allow you to mix prints and colors in a powerful way. Don't you think that velvet makes colors look more profound? And what about leather? I would be glad to know your opinion. Here is my way to mix textures for fall!

#DETAILSMATTER:

If this style inspires you and you want to reproduce it or part of it, here are some tricks and tips.

Choose wisely your fur/faux-fur: nowadays, it is super simple to buy a faux-fur at really affordable price, especially on Internet. The issue is once you have it you might realize that the way it shines is not right or it is just not as soft as you imagined. Let me tell you, your hands don't lie. If when you touch it, it doesn't feel right, don't buy it. You won't be comfortable and excited to wear it on a daily basis. Most of the times, when the texture is not soft, the way it looks is not the best too. My advice is to try it at the real day light, you'll immediately see if the texture looks good.

Mix prints carefully: prints are always a good idea to differentiate yourself. However, it doesn't mean that you have to grab all the printed clothes of your house and wear them all at the same time. No one wants to look like a clown. I recommend to mix two kinds of prints. It easier to control at first. If you're not comfortable with wearing prints on your top or bottom, start with the accessories, such as belts and scarfs. You can remove them anytime of the day, whereas it is much more complicated to remove your printed trousers in the middle of day in the open space in front of your colleagues. All that matters is that you feel comfortable and confident in your outfit.

Twist your outfit: A good way to create a good, no a great outfit is to twist it. How ? The details my dear! What kind? Colors, accessories, shoes,... So many options. For example, when styling my outfit I chose beautiful burgundy velvet trousers and spiky flat leather boots. Both combined give the printed clutch and coat a rock'n'roll twist.

What about the make-up?: You're wearing prints, colors and various textures. There are already a lot of informations. The only thing is to have a flawless make up. I decided to show off my eyes with a good khôl pencil and mascara. The rest is about stain. You can also decide to use a nude or light pink lipstick to accentuate your lips instead of the eyes.
