THE GLOBETROTTER GENE: IS TRAVELLING IN OUR DNA?
Travelling is probably one of my favorite activity. Having the opportunity to discover other cultures, landscapes, tastes and so much more, is one of my greatest pleasure. I love to explore. I can't stand staying in the same city for too long. I guess I am what you could call a globetrotter. Always on the go.
Recently, I discussed it with a friend and we ended up saying that some people are born to travel. I don't know if there is a globetrotter gene. I am not a scientist. The one thing I can say is that travelling is part of me and my identity. I guess my parents are at the roots of this urge. I was lucky enough to be part of all the trip they planned since I was born. I even went to Florence twice: the first one I was still in my mother's belly, the second time 22 years later.
I am now 26 and when I look back I see the many cities and countries I visited. I am truly proud of it. Being able to travel so easily is a luck that I cherish deeply. It is part of my freedom and my balance I guess. Travelling is a way to put everything in perspective, to take time for yourself and to plan your next moves in life.
The best decision I took were linked to travels. Same with the ideas. I believe that travelling and seeing the world help you to clear you mind and increase you consciousness. It is also a way to take control by going out of your comfort zone and your routine.
Do you travel with people or alone? Both. I do love to travel alone actually. It is during those trips that I am the more open-minded and eager to discover. On the other hand, sharing the experience with your friends and family and creating memories is a gift. I guess everything lies in what your heart and your gut tell you. Is it the time to experience alone? What do you need? Where do you want to go?
The answers to those questions will help you not only determine your destination, but also if the kind of trip you truly want to plan. And you know what? You are the only one to have this answer.
