BLACK LIPS: HOW TO ADOPT THE BEAUTY TREND

BLACK LIPS: HOW TO ADOPT THE BEAUTY TREND

Intense! This is going to be intense! Black lips are a major beauty trend and one of my favorite - yeah I love black this is no secret! So fasten your seat belt, this look is going to be fabulously sharp.

Usually, when I create a beauty look, I explain how the idea came up in my mind. But for this one, I have to say I was inspired by the runways ! So I stole the look and adapted it to my personal style. This whole makeup is about intensity and confidence. The lips are the main focus and should be perfectly defined. The secondary intensity source comes from the eyes, which are enhanced by a black mascara. The stain's role is to contrast with the lips and the eyes to highlight them. It should be flawless!

Remember: makeup should be fun! A great beauty style is one you play with! Fashion and beauty are made to express your personality, your creativity. So what a better way to do so than getting inspired by the fashion runways and play with it to create new styles and experiment. This is what I want you to remember of this whole post. Even if you don't like this makeup style - it's perfectly fine by the way my dear -, one of the reason I work on those posts is to pass this message - and I also like to get people attention!

CREATE THIS LOOK... STEP-BY-STEP

First of all, to reproduce this style, you will need: a mascara, black lipstick or a intense black eyeshadow and vaseline, a nude eyeshadow and an eyeliner.

STEP 1: The first thing you have to do is your stain. I recommend to do a light and natural one that will just avoid your skin to shine too much.

STEP 2: Easy one! Apply the nude eyeshadow on the eyelids. The aim is to be the closest to the color of your skin and to avoid transfer of mascara during the day.

STEP 3: Apply some vaseline on the lips. The idea is to make your lips sticky. It will help the black eyeshadow to stay on the lips during the day.

STEP 3 bis: Apply the black lipstick, as every common lipstick. Just make sure the lipstick is well applied. If needed, remove the excess with some makeup remover. This look is supposed to be sharp!

STEP 4: Apply the black eyeshadow. Go little by little, as it is a volatile material, to be able to control the intensity of your lips. I do recommend to go 100% for an intense look, but it is my opinion. And your free to do whatever you decide!

STEP 5: Finally put some black mascara...

And...you're good to go !

If this style inspires you and you want to reproduce it, here are some tricks and tips.

Do some strobing: A good makeup trick that you can use on a daily basis. Use a highlighter that corresponds to your skin tone on the T-zone of you face. I personally use it to lighten my forehead and top of the nose.

Intensity: The black lips is not the easiest makeup look! It may be a challenge for you just to feel confident with black lips, but also to create this style. So my recommendation is to start light and to add layers. This way you will be able to control the intensity of the look. Go for what makes you comfortable and confident, this is the most important thing!

What about the clothes? : That's the best part! You can do whatever you want as long as you make sure the clothes don't clash with the lipstick shade. As it is a intense makeup look, I recommend you go for minimalistic tailored or printed clothes. When I created this look, I picked the leopard silk top (as seen on the picture), high waist pants and high heels. If you prefer dresses or skirts, go for it! As long as you don't feel dressed up, this is a GO!
