Everyone has a go to silhouette. Everyone, my darling. Yours maybe completely different from mine. But, they do have in common, to be related to our personal style, lifestyle and tastes. A go to silhouette is the outfit that symbolize your overall style. Your uniform in a way.

The point of this post is to help you discover yours. If you already know what is your go to silhouette, maybe you would be inspired by some of my tips... Anyway creating this look that should represent you - acting a bit like a business card in people's mind - can be sometimes tricky, especially if you like to go off the beaten tracks. Just like me.

As you know I love texturized clothes and velvet is part of my favorites, so obviously I had to incorporate those in my look. However, they are just additions to the real basis of my go to silhouette, which mainly consist in a head-to-toe black outfit. I can't help it, I just love black to much! The main advantage of black is that it enhance the contrast and the textures. Therefore, it is a good idea if you plan to wear statement clothes or accessories.

If I had to sum up my go to silhouette in an equation, it would be the following:

Black pants + dark top + statement jacket + statement bag + minimalistic earrings or bracelet + black boots or heels = MY GO TO SILHOUETTE !

To help you create or perfect yours, here are all the details that matter.

Know your basics: The one element you will build your look on. It can be pants, a type of tops, dresses, a specific color, and many more. You are the only one to know. Once you got it, you pick the clothes that match it. For example, my basic is black pants. Thus, for this look, as I wanted to create an intense silhouette, so I went all black and picked the contrasting elements afterwards. Your basic should always be the no brainer in the equation - just remember that !

Contrast is essential: When you have a unicolor basis, such as blue, white, grey or black, you need some elements to stand out. Otherwise, your silhouette would be boring as hell - and we are a lot of things my dear but not boring! To do so, you shall pick clothes, bags or accessories that would take your go to silhouette to the next level. In my silhouette, I chose a cream kimono with velvet printed - you have a kimono OCD - and a light brown Mansur Gavriel bag. Both are statement pieces, which are contrasting with the black pants and tops. And when they are combined create a showstopper outfit.

What about the makeup: As I decided to put my hair up in a ballerina bun, I wanted a clean and feminine beauty style. Therefore, I chose to do cat-eyes, made off black eyeliner over brown eyeshadows. I wanted my hairstyle and my makeup to be matching. You can also go with a nude make-up. Just remember that with nude, your stain must be impeccable!
