The coast of the Mediterranean sea are full of surprises. Wonders to be more accurate. The Amalfi coast is one of them. Genuinely magnificent. The coast, the sea, the inhabitants, the culture, the gastronomy,... a real paradise on earth. #LifeOfParadise
I've always dreamt to go on vacation on the Amalfi coast. This summer my dream became reality. And the least I can say, is that I wasn't disappointed! Actually, I totally fell in love with this Italian region. I already miss it so much, that I already planning to go back!
Because I am such a nice girl, I compiled all my hot spots from my trip, just for you my darling. So if you are wishing to visit this paradise on earth, have a look the the following spot to know where to stay, eat, shop, drink and more!
HOTSPOT
SORRENTO
Stay
Grand Hotel Capodimonte: Probably one of the most jaw-dropping view of Sorrento. The service is perfect. And what about the swimming pools! Gorgeous and perfectly oriented. Really nice hotel to stay in this amazing city.
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria: Okay, this is the H.O.T.E.L! The kind you dream about. When you're there, you totally lose the notion of time. You will have the impression that you're totally out of city. Just exquisite!
Eat
Antica Trattoria: One of the oldest trattoria of Sorrento. The atmosphere is a bit baroque, but the food is absolutely delicious. A total must when you're visiting Sorrento. I highly recommend the pasta with shrimps and lemon.
Da Emilia: Located in Marina Grande, Da Emilia is an amazing traditional trattoria specialized in fish courses. Simple and yummy! And just so you know, the legendary Sophia Loren used to be a great customer of this restaurant.
Hotel Bellevue Syrene: A breathtaking view, a perfect service and a delicious gastronomic cooking. What can we ask more? Nothing. My favorite spot for diner. Totally recommend it!
Gelateria David: Simply the best gelateria of Sorrento. Go try it!
Drink
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria: If you're not staying at the hotel, go have a drink on the romantic terrace to admire the sunset and have an incredible cocktail. My favorite sunset spot of Sorrento!
See
Marina Grande: A typical Amalfi coast marina. Full of lovely trattorias, fisherman's boats. Absolutely bucolic.
Parque Communale: One of the nicest point of view of Sorrento. And totally free.
Shop
Carmen: This little shop located nearby the main street of Sorrento is full of the most amazing handmade jewels made of coral. Engage conversation with the lovely owner, she will give you super nice advice.
Gargiulo & Jannuzi: It is THE craftsmanship store of Sorrento. Almost a museum of what the locals are able to do with wood, glasses, ceramics... A good place to find one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
POSITANO
Stay & Eat:
Hotel Palazzo Murat: My absolute crush. If I go back to the Amalfi coast, I would definitely book a room at this hotel. Why? It is perfectly located in the center of Positano, but you will totally forget the streets noises. You'll feel like you are in an oasis of cool. I am in love with this place and the restaurant is super nice too!
Shop
Nana: The most amazing handmade sandals shop in Positano. Perfectly designed: from classic shapes to sandals made of Swarovski crystals. Located in the upper part of the city, I highly recommend Nana, if you want to get the well-known sandals that made the area famous. Oh, and the owner are the novelist people ever !
See
Beach: The iconic beach of Positano. Its restaurants, the colorful sunshades. Everything is similar to the picture you see on Internet.
CAPRI
Eat:
Ristorante Verginiello: Located in a small street of Capri, the Ristorante Verginiello will offer you a super nice view while having a typical caprese lunch. Try the pizza and the pasta. They are amazing!
Shop
Da Constanzo: One of the iconic handmade sandals shops of Capri. Shoes lover, I recommend you this one. Clarke Gable used to be a customer of Da Constanzo.
See
Garden of Augustus: The renowned gardens of Capri. Romantic and bucolic. And this is an amazing point of view over the island.
Streets: It may sound stupid to say that one of the thing to admire in Capri is the streets. But actually, this little labyrinth is an great way to discover the mysteries of the island. Go out of the main roads to see how the locals live. Priceless.
Grotta Azzurra: The famous cave of Capri. Only accessible by boat and sea is calm. The Grotta Azurra is renowned for the blue reflection on its walls and its super clear water. Jaw-dropping!
RAVELLO
See
Villa Rufolo: Ravello is a lovely town located on the top of hill. There, there is the magnificent villa Rufolo, composed of ruins, gorgeous gardens and a breathtaking view! A must see!

Gastronomy: Who doesn't love Italian gastronomy? Well, if you are like me and you're fond of it, this trip will not just delight your eyes, it will thrill your taste buds! You can try new stuff or go for classics. Either way, you will find your happiness. Yummy !
Don't be scared to ask locals for advice: The inhabitants of the Amalfi coast are literally adorable! They are usually happy to help or give you some advice. Listen to them. Their recommendations (tips, spots to visit,...) are priceless and so much more authentic than what you have in guides.
Local craftsmanship: The Amalfi coast is well known for its craftsmanship. Ceramics. Jewels made of coral. Handmade sandals. And many more... Just go in the tiny little shops and discover their wonders.
