LA HUNE by YELLOW KORNER

LA HUNE by YELLOW KORNER

I've always been passionated by photography. For a long time, I used to buy exhibition and art books in bookshop. Alright, I still do - I am an addict, shoot me for that.

One of the bookstores was La Hune. Located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés - I know this SO cliché but Parisians loves this neighborhood, probably one of the only true clichés about Parisians by the way - La Hune could be described as the Café de Flore of the librairies. It is an institution, especially if you're an art and photography amateur.

Not such a long time ago La Hune got closed. Sad. Many people thought it was the end. So you can imagine how happy we were when we learned its reopening!

La Hune was brought back to life by the company Yellow Korner, specialized in the sale of artistic photography. Perfect match!

What they did with the place is so good! They transformed La Hune into a Yellow Korner store, an art and photography bookstore and a gallery. To put it in a nutshell, they kept the spirit of La Hune taking it to the next level. Something in between the original library and a concept store. A truly organic evolution.

Even if you're not interested into buying artwork or books, I recommend you sneak into the exhibition on the first floor. But overall to the stairs.

So yes, the stairs - no, no, no I did not mix up words, your read well. What is so special about the stairs? Hum do you know someone called Jean-Charles de Castelbajac?

For those who don't. Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is one of the craziest, dopest and most inspiring luxury designer and also an amazing artist.

Quick tip: You can find many of his artwork on random wall all over Paris. Street art is a huge passion of mine - but this is another story.

So, to go back to La Hune stairs, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac decorated them by painting on the wall poetic character, that are typical of his artistic universe.

I totally fell in love with the fresco and the painted window in the middle of the gallery, adding romanticism to the already romantic Saint-Germain-des-Prés view.
